Hello, and thank you for your feedback.
Firstly I am sorry that we let you down so badly during the process. I can see from what you have written we did not manage the process nor the communications with you as we should have done. With regards to the role, you are right we have been cautious about making the hire because we wanted to make sure that all of the relevant stakeholders were involved, and that the person who joins the team is in an environment that will support their successful onboarding and role start. This took too long and we did not move fast enough during this.
You are also right that we have decided that we need to hire some other roles in the team first. We made this decision because we felt that if we hired the Editor now, that candidate would not have the best chance to succeed in the new role. We should have made this decision faster.
I understand that we communicated with you regularly during the process, but I can see that we were too slow to let you know where we were. The hiring managers were also involved in a major project which was also a factor, but this is not an excuse to give you a poor service, when it should have been an amazing one.
With regards to the culture, we do pride ourselves on having an amazing culture and creating a great place to work. We also do provide amazing benefits to our staff (i.e. 35 days paid holiday for staff including public holidays and a specific wellbeing benefit of $750) but know that is of little comfort when we do not get the recruitment process right.
Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and sorry we let you down and did not give you the service you deserve.
I wish you all the best in your job hunt, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further feedback you would like to share.
Regards, Robert Hicks (Group HR Director)
