      Marketing Interview

      Jul 5, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Rheem in Jun 2024

      Interview

The first interview went very well. HR rep and I hit it off, and he told me he was passing me onto round 2 and asked for my availability for the next week. I told him the ONE day and time I wasn't available. That afternoon, a meeting invite came in for the second interview on the day and time I told him I was unavailable. I asked the HR rep about it, and he told me it was the only day and time the hiring manager was available, so I accepted and canceled a doctor's appointment I'd been waiting on for months. However, the hiring manager didn't bother to show up on the morning of the interview. I again contacted the HR rep, who told me the hiring manager had a family emergency and that they would "try" to reschedule. That afternoon, the job was relisted. Several weeks later, an interview invite showed up in my inbox. No time or day had been previously discussed. This was quite literally out of the blue. I accepted and had what I felt was a great interview. Nearly two weeks later, I got a rejection email. So, on a whim, I checked Rheem's job listings, and—you guessed it—the job had been relisted again. Not only that, but I saw they'd originally listed the job in early February. So it appears they'd been hunting their purple unicorn for five months. There's a process for finding the right candidate for a role. But if it takes over five months, the company is searching for someone who likely doesn't exist.
