I shouldn't have bothered with spending a minute of my time on these people. It all began with mistrustful, negative and seemingly paranoid phone interviewer, who questioned me as if I was a fresh high school grad trying to get into a senior engineering position, literally asking me if I was lying on my resume. Next stage, came the recruiter who tried to rush me into in-person interview giving me unusual 2-day time frame and pressuring me as if my own time/schedule weren't of any importance for them. Next, came the in-person interview where one (out of 4) interviewers was absolutely insulting and suggesting in my face I was lying on my resume, and calling my university a "high school". Next, came an offer--which I considered initially--but it was accompanied by demands for my 1099 and W2 from previous positions, a requirement which I consider a privacy violation, also it was accompanied by phone calls from shady-sounding individuals from background check company who sounded like they had no education yet were trying to accuse me of having none (while I hold 2 degrees), who were rude to me, talking to me like detectives to a criminal (the style and tone of voice), insulted my nationality, etc. Also, I noticed that all engineers and even recruiters within the company I dealt (and I came in contact with a few) with were one gender, which was striking lack of diversity. The amount of rudeness, disrespect and observed lack of diversity in company make-up was such that I declined my further interest in them and did not sign an offer, as I would not want to work in such culture/atmosphere. This was truly a nightmarish experience, but also an eye opener (to watch out for company culture cues from interview day one and not bother if there're any red flags). Also, a lesson that when a company has an extensive online form to fill out to apply, which consists of a trillion of questions, and asks for your references phone numbers, and personal and private details before they even talked to you once, not to bother any further.
