      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RingCentral in Mar 2020

      Interview

I applied for the position online and had a recruiter reach out to me to set up a 30-minute screener interview. When the recruiter reached out to me it was pretty obvious early on that they wouldn't hire me. I am an out of state candidate and she made it clear that there was no relocation assistance (something I am okay with) and also made it clear that they wouldn't be paying to bring anyone in from out of state for interviews (Something I found strange). She made it sound like they'd be more than interested in interviewing me on site if I paid my way out and lumped it in with interviews with other companies (?). She asked me what sort of compensation I'd be looking for and when I told her it was very obvious they were not willing to pay that much and she couldn't have scooted off the phone call faster. As a courtesy, she still asked me whether I had any questions, all role-specific, and she couldn't answer questions on whether they use an LMS or had already created any materials for training. Overall, I felt like the recruiter had minimal job-specific knowledge and processed me out due to compensation expectations. Based on what I know of the role and expectations, it seems like RingCentral might be the type of company that is unwilling to pay for the quality and experienced talent necessary for certain roles.
