      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      May 12, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer

      Application

      I interviewed at RingCentral

      Interview

2 phone interviews...then crickets. After emails to the HR contact I received a call saying that I was "still in the running" but they are continuing to source additional candidates. What kind of corporate double-speak is that?!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The most difficult question (after the phone calls) would be "Did I get the job?"

      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      Aug 17, 2020

      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at RingCentral (London, England) in Feb 2020

      Interview

This was the most protracted interview process I'd ever encountered. Five interviews in total, including a 1 hour presentation I spent 60 hours working on. The entire process took 2 months, and at the end I was offered a role, only to then have it retracted due to a change in hiring structure from the US. At every stage the hiring team made all the right noises, only for it to be "just one more call" with "just one more person" as they kick the can down the road and waste time. The two things I took the most from this experience were: 1. If you're applying for a role outside of North America you need to be prepared for them to change direction at no notice. 2. The calibre of senior (director level) employees at RingCentral (in the UK at least) is laughable. Throughout the hiring process most are disinterested at best, and at worst they come across shy, awkward, and out of the depth. The takeaway there is you won't get mentorship, and you clearly need to be in the right cultural crowd to get promoted.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Very generic - how do you feel about having to change direction on a project you've already put time into, tell me about your CV / career history, give me an example of something you did that didn't work out well.
