I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Riveron (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2020
Interview
Process was straight forward and all remote due to covid. I did 5 interviews with SMDs and MDs. The interviews were spread across about 3 months. It was a long process but also smooth to navigate with HR.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interview was based on experience and how its applicable to the restructuring environment. It was a great process until the end. After we got to the end they said they wanted to make me an offer which I was happy about. Then i got contacted by the head of OPs to ask me if I was willing to come down on pay expectations (mind you this was AFTER they said they wanted to make an offer and AFTER a 3 month interview process). I told them yes but not much as they reached out to me not the other way around. The next day i received a call saying they were going to "hold on the hiring and not make an offer". So they tried to negotiate money at the end after they knew expectations day 1 and then when they didn't get the result they wanted the retracted the offer conversation.

Interview
Several Zoom interviews. Process took 4-5 weeks, and it was well coordinated and communication between interviewers and talent acquisition was somewhat timely. Need to be proactive and follow up to make sure promised timelines were met.

Initial interview with in-house Recruiter. Skills assessment was then provided while Recruiter scheduled additional phone interviews. Assessment was not difficult. Recruiter wasted four weeks kicking the can down the road promising additional phone interviews. Position was "put on hold" and Recruiter encouraged me to wait four months for additional opportunities to materialize. The entire process was a fishing exercise meant to justify Recruiter's employment when the firm was not hiring.
