Interview process was intense with a heightened sense of urgency for that particular hire. After several interviews virtual and in-person, a caliper test (results of which were never shared) and a few cancelled interviews the company went silent. There was no reasonable explanation to what has happened. I was told by the recruiter that they decided to hire someone more junior, which didn't make sense based on the conversations I had with senior management during the interview process.
