I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Robert Half in Nov 2023
Interview
The interview process itself was easy enough, considering I never contacted them in regard to the position; I was contacted out of the blue by a recruiter. I've actually been contacted by 2 recruiters from this company recently and both seem to have been taught very brusque tactics as neither ever said goodbye, but just disconnected the call. I get that "time is money", but "goodbye" takes a second and is just nicer. I feel like cattle being herded into the slaughterhouse to put dinner on their table and nothing more..
Anyway, after my interview, the recruiter contacted me, sounding super excited, to let me know that my interview went so well, the company canceled all others and the recruiter expected an offer. I hadn't heard anything by the end of the week, so I followed up first thing Monday morning via email and was told they decided to hire someone else with more experience.
I have two issues with this: 1) don't contact me and get me excited unless you reasonable think they are going to hire me (after my second email, I was told there were two other candidates being considered as if it had been a toss-up as to who would get it).
2) You contacted me about the position; close the loop with me. My understanding was that I never would have heard anything about the role again if I hadn't followed up. Ghosting is a common, albeit gross new trend in the hiring process and it needs to be reversed. We're all humans here; act accordingly.
I applied through college or university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Robert Half (Mississauga, ON) in Jan 2022
Interview
Very easy and friendly, some payroll and hr questions. Recruiters are easy-going and helping you with the questions and answers before arranging you an interview with the company. Great time and friendly staff.
Personable and took their time to listen. Able to make me feel comfortable by having a laugh in between the questions. They took their time and listened to what I had to say and did not rush or pressure me.
