Their regular contractor jobs aside, this was for their Salaried Professionals (forget the name, but it's a full time gig in house).
Did a Skype interview with the program director; she asked plenty of appropriate questions over the 30 minute "hard stop" appointment.
Next steps included an online test of my skills, three in fact, requiring about 40 minutes apiece. The only trouble is that she intentionally gave me tests that didn't align with the position nor my background (all app development and programming, I'm on the design side). When I told her I knew nothing about these tests, she said "Just do your best, it doesn't matter so much".
If it doesn't matter, why waste 2 hours of my time to take it? Of course when the results came in, as predicted, I was not qualified in those areas. Never heard from her again.
Other, regular contractor roles are few and far between. Their staffing director told me at the initial interview that with my experience and skills (20 years across print, digital, interactive, brand, etc) I should be snatched up by their clients in less than a few weeks.
To be fair, in a year and a half, I have scored 3-4 interviews, but each time it's with a red flagged company (horrible reviews across the internet) and for half my market value.
