I first met with the Hiring Manager; a Director over recruiting/placing Technology Professionals and securing new business to place professionals. He was interested and set up second interview w/Office Manager. She too wanted to hire me and set up final interview with the District Manager. Once he was satisfied, they made me an offer and I accepted. Unfortunately, the Regional Manager was in town and wanted to meet me. Was supposed to be simple meet and greet/welcome aboard meeting. She revoked my offer after a 15 minute session. I didn’t find this out until I called the original hiring manager. Her reason? Since their region grew 7% during the worst economic conditions in Michigan’s history – I should have had at least 7% in my form position. My former position was a small consulting company that didn’t have global support and funding. I personally believe her 7% growth came from all the staffing and service based companies that went under during Michigan’s depression. And of course Michigan is still in a depression and I don’t believe their organization is growing anymore. I have inside information that they post ghost positions on internet job boards to obtain new and fresh resumes. I don’t even apply online for open positions because it’s likely the positions don’t even exist.
I believe if you do secure a position within the firm it would be a great opportunity. I just don’t believe they are upfront and forthright in their business practices and ethics. But I guess all organizations tend to build themselves bigger and pad their performance to attract new customers and resources.
