I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Robinhood (Menlo Park, CA) in Aug 2018
Interview
Imagine being in a room eye-to-eye knee-to-knee with someone’s who’s convinced they are smarter than just about anyone. They have tremendous responsibilities and want you to know it. They also just graduated from school within the last 3 years and this is their first job . That is what a half-a-day of Robinhood interviews are like, the thought of working alongside such self-important know-it-alls seems like after school detention with the high school stoner club.
Prior to my interview, as a customer, I had been impressed with their growth and popularity, but they may have just created a product that was a good fit for an ongoing bull market.
Overall the interview experience was really poor as compared to other similar age and sized companies. Interviewers were not trained on how to interview nor assess candidates. Their questions were straight out of engineering interviewing textbooks and they weren’t briefed on their focus areas. Recruiters were not available to coordinate interviews for changes and candidates are left staring at the walls when interviewers leave. Most importantly, the recruiters had no sense of communication pre-and post-interview- ok if you are Facebook, Amazon, Netflix or Google - not OK if you are a 200 person startup going up against the likes of JP Morgan and Charles Schwab.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself - shocking mostly because they hadn't seem to seen a resume prior and were genuinely surprised to learn about my background.
Had the OA which was 4 questions. The interesting part was that each question had a separate time limit, rather than the typical 1 hour total for all 4 questions.

Question 1
First question was some basic string manipulation.
Don't remember the 2nd question.
3rd was some implementation stuff.
4th is algorithmic.
Regular interview process with technical screen then three rounds coding, system design, and project deep dive. Questions are average difficulty on leetcode, would definitely prepare for both coding and system design.

Question 1
don't remember exactly the question but graph related?
The recruiter said I passed all the interviews, takes me to HM round, says I did great and then tells me can't push out an offer quickly so would keep me under consideration for 6-8 months, like wtf?
