I initially spoke with a member of the Recruiting team who was pretty junior to me. I found this a little strange, but understandable. However, they didn't really ask me anything of significance and I'm honestly not really sure if they even understood the internal landscape at Robinhood, as they were unable to answer a lot of my questions. It was a very, very surface-level call.
Despite all of that, they still seemed kinda bored by me and I got the impression that they were really only looking for people from FAANG companies based on a few comments made around their current pipeline of candidates (which I found borderline inappropriate). While I do have previous FAANG experience myself, it still felt like I wasn't really given much of a chance based on the tone of the conversation. Which is fine... but why bother talking to me at all?
Overall, I'm a little turned off by the elitist attitude at Robinhood. Not sure why they think they are Google all of a sudden. I doubt I would interview with them again based on my experience
