I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Robinhood in Jul 2025
Interview
Absolute garbage. Interview process is 2 coding interviews, 1 system design, 1 project deep dive.
Booked the coding interview 2 weeks in advance, 12am day of I get an email asking me to reschedule. Almost no slots available. I shift my schedule around to accommodate. Recruiter and email instructions explicitly state they are language agnostic and you can answer in any language you prefer.
50 min interview. First 5 mins of the interview going back and forth about experience. Turns out the online editor & test cases are prepared for a few languages, none being what I selected. Online editor won't display the question beside the code, forcing me to constantly flip backwards and forwards. Everytime the interviewer tried to view the question while I was editing my code, it would hide my code. Spent 5 mins trying to figure out why the online editor was highlighting syntax issues that weren't issues. Had to jump to a different online editor and run my code to confirm it was right. Turns out my syntax was fine, editor just sucked.
Minor implementation issue, fixed within 1 min. Implementation passed base test case.
Generic rejection the next day explaining its company policy not to provide feedback.
Interview cancelled on short notice, online editor they provide has issues, correct implementation of the code just to get a generic rejection with no feedback. Thanks for wasting our time.

Interview
The recruiter screen was smooth and professional. I moved through the initial step quickly, but shortly afterward I was informed that the position had already been filled. While disappointing, the turnaround time was fast and the communication was clear, which I appreciated.
