I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Roblox in Sep 2023
Interview
Very positive interview experience, expert candidate management by the recruiter who was prompt and thoughtful, communicating feedback and next steps. I felt very well prepared for success throughout the process.
Post initial recruiter screening, process moved to 1:1s with the hiring manager and a PM leader, then onto a panel portfolio review and 1:1s with Design and Engineering leadership who will be working directly with this role. Each interview felt like a 'how might we' conversation toward a common set of goals rather than a grilling and was a nice preview of Roblox's interpersonal culture. Interviewers asked thoughtful questions w/ minimal redundancy and were welcoming of questions. Interviews were held over Zoom, scheduled across multiple days into blocks of time I provided to the recruiting team.
Offer and onboarding processes have been well organized as well.
Looking forward to my first day as a Roblox employee!

Question 1
How will you scale your impact as the first UX designer in this group?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at Roblox (San Mateo, CA) in Oct 2022
Interview
Recruiters have zero communication skills and have no clue what they are doing. The hiring team is just wasting the company's and the candidate's time. I had a really bad experience and my interview process and took over 6 months time to finally give me an answer. Beware that the recruiter will ghost you and provide lame and irrelevant excuses. The hiring team doesn't know what role they are hiring for and felt like a complete mess. Employees have a lot of free time here and probably the whole company would take your interview. In my case, I had my interview with more than a dozen people and if I wouldn't have intervened then they would have made me talk to even more people. Note: If you were impacted by recent layoffs please do not apply if you think the process will be quick. Trust me it won't be.
