I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Roblox (San Mateo, CA) in Sep 2024
Interview
The interview process consists of an online assessment of 4 modules, each taking 20-60 minutes, followed by 2 rounds of technical and behavioral interviews each if you move forward (4 rounds of interviews). 3 of the modules are completed inside Roblox, and the coding assessment is inside CodeSignal, so you will need accounts for both.
They offer a forum where they describe the process. However, the section for the coding assessment is misleading and tries to make it seem easier than it is. You are given some practice leetcodes that are Easy difficulty with a couple of Mediums and told during the assessment that runtimes do not matter until after the problem is solved. However, the questions given during the coding assessment were on par with Hard difficulty questions, with runtime integral to passing a majority of the tests, so be well prepared.
Other Software Engineer Interview Reviews for Roblox
Took an OA. Pretty difficult leetcode style questions and some games (Roblox games and psychology based games to determine personality traits). I did not get through the initial online assessment.
One standard hr phone call then one 60 min phone screen. Nothing out of the ordinary. Phone screen was done on codesignal where you could see code compile and run
Interview consisted of two leetcode style questions and two "games" that tested problem solving and optimization. Coding questions were of medium/hard difficulty. The games were difficult as the instructions given were terrible and unintuitive.
