Interview
I applied online and received a voicemail from a recruiter a few days later. We played a bit of phone tag, but when we finally connected he did a brief phone screen. I was certain when we hung up that I was never being seriously considered for the role. He cut me off multiple times and showed a genuine lack of interest in what I was saying. I felt like he had wasted both my time and his own, and like he knew it. It was obvious he wanted to get off the phone as quickly as possible, which I can't blame him if I wasn't actually even being considered. He called me later in the week to tell me in a very scripted manner that they had moved forward with other candidates. I wasn't surprised by the news, but I was surprised that even more time was wasted to tell me that in a phone call when an email would have sufficed. My guess is the recruiters are either required to call every single applicant regardless of qualifications, or are playing a numbers game with dials/contacts per day. I was more annoyed by the process than by the recruiters' lack of engagement.

Interview
I received a phone interview as a screening but did not move forward so do not know what happens next. I need to type more words to meet the minimum unfortunately.
