The recruiter led me on the whole way. She said I had the position and we were deciding on what days to start. There were january starting dates and feb starting dates. I had 2 phone interviews and a background check. I drove to scottsdale from vegas for the interview. Honestly, I already thought I had the position with what the recruiter told me. I am new to the interviewing process in a corporate world, so I take some responsibility on thinking that I had it.
The bankers are on the phone all day. The ones who do get offers do all the dirty work for the first 2-5 months of 'training/waiting for licensed test results' at $9 hr. One guy I listened in on had been testing for about 9-10 months. So, his job is to telemarket people who had interest at one point to refinance. If they are successful , the call gets transferred to a mortgage banker (who gets the commission).
Looks like a pretty fun place to work, with good benefits. I felt I was a good fit, but I just graduated and was not trained on how to master the interview process. They say no sales experience required, but as part of the final interview process I had to sell a fake client to purchase the nfl sunday ticket. They will never accept the package, but you need to set up a following appointment. I tried 4 different ways to close and finally got the fake client to accept. I felt it went well, I wasn't too pushy. In the end I don't know why I didn't get the offer, other than we found others who better suit the company.
Wish the recruiter would have stopped saying things like .......ya you'd be great, there going to love you with the company or we're going to have you start feb 9th.
The final interview was very casual, very general questions.
