Applied online. Was called by HR for a brief phone screen and to set up an in-person interview. Went to interview and the HR person asked basic questions about my employment history. There was a part in the interview where she left the room and had me watch a video. I was instructed to call her after watching the video for a mock sales call, with the objective of selling her a product from one of quickens family of companies. She raised a lot of objections and I felt like I did poorly. When she came back into the room she said they never say yes during the mock call. We wrapped up the interview and she then scheduled an interview with a sales team manager. He asked pretty basic interview questions we talked about personal interests, etc. He took me to the sales floor and sat me with a mortgage banker to shadow him for about 20 minutes. Then, he took me into a regional VP of sales' office. We talked briefly and the regional VP told me to call the manager later that night and leave a voicemail about why they should hire me. I received a phone call the next week from the HR manager explaining to me they decided not to hire me. When I asked for feedback about why they made that decision, they said they went with candidates with more education than I had. I personally know people they have hired for that position that don't have any college education.
