      Detroit Ambassador Coordinator Interview

      Mar 28, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Detroit, MI
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Rocket (Detroit, MI) in Mar 2018

      Interview

I worked with Recruiters (a couple phone calls) and ended up making it to ANOTHER phone round with the Detroit Ambassador Team. The day of my phone call with the Detroit Ambassador team ended up being kind of weird. I called the conference line that I was directed to by the recruiter I was working with. I ended up getting a call from a (313) number but chose not to answer. The Detroit Ambassador team ended up accessing the conference line and told me they tried contacting me since they were having trouble with the conference line (should have been the first red-flag). What I wasn't informed about prior to the day of my phone interview was that this team was in transit to Cleveland while they were talking to me. Does anyone else see an issue with this? I cannot believe how unprofessional these individuals are to think that interviewing someone while they're in transit is appropriate. Phone interviews can be tricky enough, but adding in additional background noise, etc. adds to the complications. I DO NOT think that my interview was as fair as maybe someone else's that interviewed with the team in a more quiet, professional setting. Later that week (or maybe the next week - I don't remember) I received a phone call from the recruiter I was working with to tell me that I would not be moving forward. I asked if there was any information that could be shared with me as to why I wasn't moving forward and I was told that they enjoyed my "personality and enthusiasm" or something like that. Great tip for workers that are wasting peoples' time and especially those that are not using professional work spaces to interview: AT LEAST OFFER SOME TYPE OF CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM FOR THOSE THAT DO NOT MOVE FORWARD. You are doing a disservice to individuals by not offering them any suggestions on how they can better improve their interviewing skills. Best of luck to the individual that works with this team - hope you have more respect for people and their time than these individuals did. Hopefully I dodged a bullet by not working with this team or any of the Quicken Loans companies – not really sure how these employees are selected but maybe I’ll take my experience and education elsewhere :)

      Detroit Ambassador Coordinator Interview

      Mar 13, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Rocket in Mar 2018

      Interview

There was a call to set up an actual call. But why though? Then the actual call wasn't even about the position I applied for, but about how my skills, talents, and experience could work into the Quicken Loans/Rock Ventures organization. I'm not applying to another position, I wanted to interview about the position I applied for. I found that to be a bait and switch. Then they go and talk about where I could fit in and take into consideration the position I applied for. That's ridiculous. If I wanted a different position, I would've applied for that position. The recruiter was bland and had no personality. Didn't really try to connect with me, but of course she didn't because they don't recruit for specific positions, but the company at-large. Recruiter then called back 2 business days later and said I'm not going further. Said I didn't have one of the skills they wanted despite the fact the skill was all over my resume (including in the title and part of the role of a previous position). Done with QL. I didn't think I was a shoe-in totally, but an in-person interview would've been nice and if it didn't work there, then fine. Don't care if I sound bitter, I'll move on, but that excuse was weak and I could see right through it.
