I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Rocket (Detroit, MI) in Jun 2012
Interview
Submitted an application for both the Mortgage Banker position and an underwriter position. Received a call back for the Mortgage Banker position after a couple of days.
Initial phone interview didn't go that well for me I don't think, but apparently it was good enough to get me another phone interview with an HR person.
Some more of the same questions were asked in the second phone interview, and I felt that I did a much better job. Scheduled an in-person interview for later that week.
The in-person interview was fine. The hardest part was making a phone call to a QL person on the other line trying to sell them some kind of accounting software. I think the trick is trying to be persuasive without being pushy. I think ultimately the person is going to reject your offer, but they want to see if you can not settle for no while not badgering the potential client.
After the HR meeting I went to talk with one of the managers, who had a tendency to answer my questions with questions, in order to gauge my responses I think.
After all of this I had to write a short email by the end of the day explaining why I would be a good fit for the position.
Overall, I feel that it wasn't a very tricky interview, as long as you are prepared and confident.

Question 1
What is a situation you found yourself in where you had to think independently.
3 rounds. First HR eventually a VP. All over the phone or video. Looking for outgoing sales people. They won’t say anything negative about the company. It seems very fake.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you convinced someone to do what they didn’t want to do?
Super easy! They will hire anyone with a pulse. You will talk to the recruiter first, and then a series of 2-3 more people. When I interviewed they didn’t even send me to the regional, they just hired me.
