When I first applied at Quicken, I was nervous because I hadn’t had any sales experience. I applied through LinkedIn, and got a call from a recruiter a few days later. The recruiter wanted to get to know me, and we spoke for fifteen minutes ago just asking about why I was interested in the company, and what my goals were. I got a call the next morning saying I passed the initial interview, and did an assessment that shows you what a day on the job would be like (note: make sure to have no distractions, a lot is focused on multitasking!). They also check your credit score. Afterwards, the recruiter sets up an hour long interview to get to know you. At this point, you’re comfortable with the recruiter and they are really open and you are able to ask them questions. Just be yourself, they love that you’re excitable and willing to work. After that, I went to the office and met with a leader who interviewed me, and then I toured the office and briefly shadowed another mortgage banker. A few days later, I got the job! There were a lot of steps in the process, but it was worth it. Quicken is a fantastic company that invests so much in their people, that they want the best. Note: There were a lot of questions about what drives you, and how you stay competitive and motivated. Answer honestly and show that you’re excited and willing to learn. Even if you’re not a pro, don’t worry- Quicken takes the time to teach you what you need to know!
