I applied online early this month (November), and was contacted by the HR five days later expressing their interest in talking to me. We spoke the following week where we discussed the role, salary and visa sponsorship. An on-site interview was fixed for 4 days later, a Friday. There was no phone screening or anything like that. I used those 4 days to prepare myself in SQL and some coding, apart from the standard data structures and algorithms. Come Friday, and the interviews are an absolute breeze. Three people interviewed me and they wanted to know more about my background and were trying to see if I would be a good fit more than my technical skills - something that I was thankful for! I was asked to write a few basic queries and was asked questions that tested the way I thought things out. That's something you really can't prepare for. Overall, they were very happy and the manager asked me to come in on Monday to meet with the executives. On Monday, I went in, spoke to one of the directors in Finance, the VP of Technology and the CEO and it was more of the same. Mostly questions that revealed my working style, my way of thinking etc etc. It was quite easy. Everyone was super chill. At no time did anyone make me feel nervous because of their status or anything of that sort. It was nice, casual and candid. I even poked a few jokes at times. Two days later, I was made an unofficial offer and I accepted. The whole process took exactly 18 days (including weekends) from the date of resume submitting to getting an unofficial offer.
