      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Rocketlane in Nov 2024

      Interview

I had one of the most confusing and disappointing interview experiences at Rocketlane for the Account Executive role. My first interview happened back in November 2024, but I never received any clear follow-up. After multiple attempts to connect with the hiring manager and HR, I was told the role was “on hold.” Since I genuinely admired the company and believed in what they were building, I patiently waited. When the same role was reposted on LinkedIn months later, I applied again. Despite reaching out proactively, I wasn’t called for a follow-up round until I personally contacted HR. That’s when I was told the original hiring manager had moved out of the role, and I would be interviewed by someone new. I cleared three rounds, including with senior leadership, and was moved to the final panel round — but this round was handled by mid-market AEs, even though the role was for an SMB AE. There was no hiring manager or leadership present, which felt off. What should have been a collaborative peer interaction ended up being a stressful and confusing session filled with irrelevant and inconsistent questions. Expectations seemed to shift mid-process, and the tone of the interview didn’t align with earlier rounds. Despite receiving positive signals from the leadership in earlier rounds, I was rejected — seemingly based on a decision from peers who weren’t aligned with the role’s scope. I even asked the current hiring manager to review the final interview and share feedback, but never received a response. If you’re planning to apply here, know this: unless you have strong internal backing or know someone within the org, you’re likely in for a frustrating process. They seem disorganized, lack transparency, and don’t value a candidate’s time.
