I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Rockstar Games (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Aug 2024
Interview
My initial understanding of the first one way video interview is that it would be a 'getting to know you' which to anyone with half a brain that would mean exactly that but nope, not at Rockstar, that was definitely not the case. I was asked tech related questions. And whilst that's not an issue it did make everything I prepared completely useless. There was no getting to know you and I genuinely believe this initial step is pure discrimination.
Frankly this initial approach is seriously bad practice, if you can't give potential employees the time of day I doubt staff will be treated any better.
The response from the comically named 'talent acquisition' was very vague and insulting. I have requested feedback but I seriously doubt that will happen.
Thanks to this experience I won't be keeping an eye out for future positions.
