I applied online. I interviewed at Ross Stores (Long Beach, CA) in Nov 2014
Interview
It took a little bit for them to get back to me to schedule an interview, but not too long. It seems that the normal way for hiring is group interviews- which is tough to stand out in. But for the most part, I think the managers do their best to give everyone an equal chance.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly questions centered around customer service: past experience and what would you do in this situation questions.
Very awkward over all, they kept trying to 'trick' me by changing up certain words and seeing if id catch the change in the question. Also put you on some super old school website training.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked if I was someone who got hurt often or had bad things happen to me often
The interview process at Ross Dress for Less consisted of meeting with a store manager to discuss my customer service experience, cash handling skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment. I was asked situational questions about handling customers, teamwork, and resolving problems. The process was straightforward and focused on my availability, work ethic, and ability to support store operations
Fast and easy! They mainly asked about my previous work experiences and my availability. They also asked what great customer service is like to you and why I would be a good fit to the company.
