Interview
Initial phone interview, then second phone interview. Had I been selected, I was told there would next be an in-person interview and "bar-raising" panel discussion.
I found this process to be very disheartening. As a highly qualified candidate for an entry-level position and current Rover walker/sitter and having a very upbeat, professional phone interview initially, the second person I spoke with seemed to have not even looked at my resume let alone the additional information they asked for on their application, until the moment of the phone interview (which she started late). Instead of focusing on the skills and experience I had to offer (which were obvious to the first person I spoke with), this person instead chose to fixate on the non-traditional, non-chronological formatting of my very relevant resume. I put a lot of time and energy into researching, preparing for and participating in this interview process and ultimately felt dismissed by an unprepared, rushed interviewer.
