      Program Manager Interview

      Oct 10, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Miami, FL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Royal Caribbean Group (Miami, FL) in Sep 2019

      Interview

I applied online via Linkedin. Had a recruiter call not to long after. I wish they had sent an email first to schedule sometime as the recruiter who called had their number show up as a scam on my phone. I kept ignoring their calls and it was really hard to understand the voicemails they left. Phone screen was very basic. No real questions. Just basic info and how much you were looking to make. They then set up another call with the hiring manager. Call with hiring manager was also pretty straightforward. Only issue was he called about 30 minutes late. It was mostly talking about the position and company. Final round was an in person interview at their HQ's in Miami. Interview consisted of four 30 minute 1:1 interviews and 1 hour interview with the hiring manager. Overall experience was really good. Each person I talked to was a senior manager or above. The interviews were a bit more casual as we mainly had a conversation with a few questions here and there. Nothing difficult in my opinion. I liked that they didn't follow a set script as some companies do. They seemed to be more focused on being able to see if you fit in the company, position and team. I really enjoyed talking to each one and learning more about the company and more specifically the strategy team. Overall it was a good experience. The issue that made the experience bad was mainly around HR. Since I was an out of state candidate they had to fly me in. They didn't really explain the process and were not clear on what would be covered. They did send me a plane ticket and reservation for the hotel. However, when it came to the rest of the expenses such as transportation, food, parking etc. they were completely mute about it. It was very disappointing when they never responded to my emails asking about the expense process. Had they even said that it was not covered I would have been fine with it. But they just completely ignored me and never responded. In the end I finally got a generic email stating they were moving on with other candidates. I didn't get much feedback but I'm assuming I was probably overqualified for the role. Overall, I think the people on the team I interviewed with were really nice and competent. However the HR and recruiting team for Royal Caribbean has a lot of work to do. If you are an out of state candidate make sure you know what is covered or not up front before actually coming in. Just transportation to and from the airport could be an excess of $150 which might have to be on your tab.

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Royal Caribbean Group (New York, NY)

      Interview

The overall process reminded me of a bad Tinder date... Had five interviews and then after the last one they ghosted me. One interview included a power point that I had to build in my free time. After two weeks of not hearing anything after the fifth interview, I contacted the recruiter. The recruiter set up a meeting to talk and again ghosted me.... Super unprofessional...
