Heard back from the recruiter, and had a phone screen with her 1 week later and it went extremely well. The role was perfectly aligned with my background, and it seemed like a mutual fit with a very positive outlook. Heard back 1 week later and moved to the next step, which was a test/skill assessment. It was a wildly deceptive experience. The assessment had nothing to do with the role, and was more focused on marketing and customer acquisition datasets. It just made no sense for the role. After spending 3 hours on it, I abandoned, submitted incomplete. I was very confused and didn't want to continue on with the process if that was going to be an important part of the role, since those skills and applicable knowledge was nowhere in the requirements of the job posting.
