I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Rutgers University in Sep 2008
Interview
I was contacted for an interview by my would-be supervisor, and came in the next week to meet with her and one of her colleagues. It was a very informal interview, though I suppose that speaks to my supervisor's laid-back attitude and might be different for other prospective employees. There was only one round of interviews, though it took Rutgers HR about a month to approve the hiring and make me an offer.
