I was called for an interview in a week. I applied online in India. When I was contacted initially I was told that I will have a technical interview straight up because I was experienced. But when I reached for an interview I was asked to solve a coding exercise in an hour. No problem, the exercise was very simple so took the exercise and completed it in about 45 minutes. I was then told to wait for 15minutes. Since I gave a working solution I was expecting a technical discussion as soon as possible. But after 5 minutes HR came to me and told me my solution was not selected at all. I was shocked as a working solution calls for a technical discussion at least. What happens in that discussion is a thing for later time. I asked the HR if I could have a technical discussion with the person who checked it. And I was given a simple bland answer that the person is busy. So they judged me on an easy exercise in just 5 mins and I was sent back home. Wasted half day I took from my current employer. The process was not at all transparent. If this is the process then this should be done online so there is no time wastage of candidate. Not a very good hiring process.
