Conversation with the team manager was pleasant. We discussed my Haxe experience and how I once hacked a closed source Haxe library to fix something. He seemed impressed. He then gave me a coding test that I felt was a bit frivolous to the point of having nothing to do with Haxe coding (write an infinite loop spitting out a cycling bit value), which I solved after a little extra time thinking about it. A couple of days later, I was told they weren’t pursuing my candidacy further with some compliments and no explanation, which honestly baffled me since I passed everything. If I had to guess, I suspect I wasn’t “left brainy” enough with my mannerisms and responses, despite clearly showing (IMO, at least) that I could do the work.
