Connected with the Head of TA and had a pleasant conversation lasting about 30 minutes. I was forwarded on to the hiring manager, and scheduled for a 1 hour video interview. The HM was of Indian descent and had a significant communication barrier. He was asking questions that did not make sense within the system we were discussing and when asked to elaborate further, he just said okay and moved on. I offered answers that were data driven and offered to have a functional review of capabilities, opposed to this terminology and broken-question driven conversation, but he did not agree. We were both clearly frustrated early on in the conversation and bowed out at the 20 minute mark. I immediately messaged the Head of TA regarding this experience. I think that there needs to be further managerial training with this HM to have a productive interview.
