Applied online with a personalized cover letter and resume, highlighting my experience. A few days later invited to for a 15 min phone screen. Interviewer asked me a few scenario questions. While I tried to squeeze in some questions of my own, the interviewer didn't know much about the position but did say the role would be supported someone entirely different ( a managing director) than what was in the job description that I applied to. The next step would have been to complete a lengthy scenario assessment and if I 'passed' I would get to speak with the hiring manager. While I understand they are trying to find the right fit, so am I. Please stop making candidates work for free by making them completing these. Instead have a conversation. Since they were unable to bypass this step, I withdrew. I value my time and 10 years experience, and the right company will too.
