The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SG Digital (London, England)
Interview
Contacted by a recruiter after they found mt CV on a job website.
Initial chat with the recruiter. Followed by a 30 min phone interview with an engineer or project manager - some technical questions as well as questions about current job. The next stage is final phone interview.
The final face to face interview is solely focussed on database design and web development and an algorithm question.
How do design a schema for a school?
About ajax, JavaScript, web development and questions on sql joins, primary key, foreign key, etc.
This would have been fine if I was a web developer. However, there's not a single word in my CV that could even suggest that. So I am not sure why they took me through every stage of the interview process and then finally say "you don't have sufficient experience in databases or web development". This should have been obvious from the very beginning - just a 3sec scan of my CV would have made it clear to anyone.
I asked the same to the recruiter in my very initial call and asked what they are looking for given their job description is very generic. He told me they don't have look for any specific skilllset as their language is tcl and that they look for people who is good programming in any language and can quickly learn. This is not true at all based on the interview.
If they want a web developer then they should advertise for a ...surprise...web developer! And stop wasting everyone's time.
The people I dealt with were mostly friendly. But their whole process lacks transparency to an extent that it's almost cheating.
First approached by HR through a phone call on basic HR interview questions, for example, experience, salary expectations, notice period, etc. The manager conducted a phone interview on basic technical questions, then a face-to-face with a senior developer and the team lead on simple scenario-based design questions.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SG Digital (Melbourne) in Oct 2021
Interview
Applied online, got a phone interview in around 1-2 weeks.
Another follow up online interview within a week after that
- first hour general CV dive
- second hour technical test and discussion about it
I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SG Digital in Apr 2021
Interview
Initial interview with HR, which was positive and left a good impression
Technical interview with Software Engineers, which was probably the opposite. I got the impression they weren't 1sy language English, as the questions were, at times, badly phrased or difficult to interpret. The interview didn't seem well planned, nor was there a positive or attractive 'feel', so within a few minutes I felt like it was a bit of a 'battery hen' feel to the company.
