      Field Engineer Interview

      Dec 12, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Pescara, Abruzzo
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SLB (Pescara, Abruzzo)

      Interview

The job interview was placed in Pescara, actually not in Pescara but in S. Teresa di Spoltore. A place absolutely unconfortable for any human being coming from outside. At 9:30 there was the appointment. They sent a car to bring us there, at 8:30, only 15min to arrive there. Just the same the meeting started at 9:30. First of all they introduced the company. Something which, if you have ever read about SLB, you know. Then was time for three different test. Maths(easy calculations like powers, roots, derivatives, there were also some questions about parallel and series resistances), Logic(the classical one) and "Mechanics"(understand the rotation of some pulleys, some question about Archimedes law, some about gears). 40 min each, some breaks. Then a questionary where you must answer just yes at each questions, such as "Do you like SLB?" answer, "mmmmaaaaa siiiiii un figurooooneee". Then lunch time. They offered the lunch in an iffy place. We came back to the "storehouse" and we were subjected to a group assesment. We were splited in groups, they gave us 20 paper sheet, a scissor and schotch. we had to build the highest tower we could which could sustain a cellphone. This in 40 minutes. Questions like which is your favourite sport in summer? Which in winter...After that we had 5 minute to present ourselves with 3 slides. They asked some easy questions. Then was the time for face to face interviews. Almost other 40 minutes each. We concluded at about 19. Then, no refound also if you spent 200€ to go there. No feedback. You just have to wait. Maybe for nothing.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Easy maths, logic and mechanics. Justify your slides, for example, if you write "I'm adventurous" they ask "what does it mean for you adventurous?". During the face to face interview they gave a valve to me and the asked to assemble it. Then questions about life, totaly absurd. Looked like they didn't care about your cv.

      Interview

It was an on campus hiring. First they shortlisted based on CV. Then second round was group discussion where we were given abstract topics like "Half filled glass of water" and were asked to discuss. This was also an eliminatory round. The final round was more of a HR round, they asked behavioural questions, few puzzles (very easy) and general knowledge questions

      Question 1

You have a candle, a lamp and you have to light both, which will you light first?
