The worst interview experience ever, They scheduled me for an interview on a Thurs. I had to drive over 45 mins to get to the site in the middle of no where which meant a lot of gas. I arrived on time for the interview, checked into automated process in the lobby and waited for 40mins. No one came. I literally had to find the HR number on my phone to let them know I was there. They had no clue I was even scheduled for the interview. They asked me if I could come back Mon at the same time. This already but a bad taste in my mouth and I knew I didn't want to work with this company but I was still curious about the next process and wanted to sharpen my interview skills. If HR can't even communicate with each other or schedule properly then that says enough about the whole company in general.
Fast forward to monday, I arrive on time and they greeted me promptly. They led on a walk to the next building which was the melt shop and I was placed in the office with 4 other people. Nobody from HR was present which was alarming. Pressure was on. One guy that was there didn't seem to care to be there. He seemed hungover, slouched in his chair, and just looked at me with the face of "I don't want to be here and I don't like this person."
It was mainly one guy who asked several questions that were all technical based.
They then explained the pay (starting is around $21 an hour) but they explained you get hefty bonuses. This is also alarming because this is a tactic companies will use to avoid certain taxes but to take it out on the employees seems ridiculous. Bonuses vary and dependent on how the site does over-all with production. So you basically can't rely on the bonus pay and have to budget with just $21/hr. Not worth it.
Once the questions were done, one of the guys led me on a tour of the melt shop facility which took about 20-30mins. There was debris all in the air and then the guy looked at me and said, "we usually wear face respirators in this area." which they never gave me one, he wasn't wearing one so he just admitted to walking me through an area that is hazardous to your lungs and over-all health. This company is a JOKE!!
