It was pretty easy, they basically just ask what you know and what time you're available and they will always have something for you to do. But, try not to say you have a lot of free time if you're just valunteering.
The interview was meeting with the professor and discussing previous research, and then talking to the phd students about expectations in the lab. Once that was done a presentation was needed
