I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2016
Interview
For starters, if you're happy in your current role that is when they will want to talk with you. If you are complaining about your management, role, job, customers, etc. you won't be a good fit.
You are tested at every single turn during the process. From beginning to end it took me 6 weeks.
It starts with initial phone interviews, two of them with recruiters. Then another with a manager. During my call with the manager he pushed back on me constantly and told me flat out I wasn't right for the role. I countered all of the points he made and continued pushing back on him. After that I interviewed with another manager before being brought in for a panel interview.
The panel interview was relatively straightforward. Next came the presentation. This is basically you trying to schedule a demo with three people based on a case study that you're given ahead of time. They want to see how you put together the pieces to form a complete picture for the customer.
Once you get past the presentation phase you'll have a final call with your manager and a senior manager.
Always ask for next steps, do your homework on who is interviewing you, and follow up with a thank you to everyone involved.
My recruiter was available throughout the whole process to bounce questions off of and provide a bit of guidance.
Recruiter missed multiple interviews only to tell me they have no positions only.
6 months later I receive an interview invite with pay $20k lower than originally discussed
Manager arrives late to the interview then cuts the time early. Company seems disorganized and difficult to take seriously as a so called leader in SaaS.

pretty easy interview. Had to do a case. It felt like it was just a formality and they put me up to it to fit into their standard processes. Not the best experience but it is what it is
