      Account Executive Interview

      May 18, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (Atlanta, GA) in May 2018

      Interview

My interview process in Atlanta has been interesting. Last month I had a phone screen with a recruiter who said I was being moved forward to the hiring manager and to watch for more information. After sending him a couple of follow up messages, I never received a response or feedback. At the beginning of the call, I noticed his low energy, but I stayed the course, showed my enthusiasm and provided substance. Nonetheless, I kept pursuing other fitting sales positions in the company. I was contacted by a very friendly and sharp sales recruiter for another position I applied for. Although that position was unavailable, she presented another sales role to me. I prepared for one position and later invested a lot of time prepping for a different position. It was my pleasure to do it because I was happy for the opportunity to interview for a role with a potential fit. The recruiter moved me forward. I signed an NDA and had a 30 minute phone interview with the hiring manager. Although he didn’t review my resume or any documents before the call, it went well. Again, I was advised I was being moved forward and recruiting will be in touch for scheduling the next meeting. After following up, the recruiter informed me that I am not being moved forward, but the hiring manager does see where I can be valuable to the company somewhere else. I understand that Salesforce is considered to be one of the best companies to work for. This is something to be very proud of. However, the hiring process, at least in Atlanta, needs to be more respectful of the candidates. If you’re not seriously moving someone forward in the process, then don’t tell them you are. Why ask your interested candidates to wait for you? That’s unprofessional and doesn’t speak well for the company who claims “Trust” as one its core values.

      Interview

Recruiter missed multiple interviews only to tell me they have no positions only. 6 months later I receive an interview invite with pay $20k lower than originally discussed Manager arrives late to the interview then cuts the time early. Company seems disorganized and difficult to take seriously as a so called leader in SaaS.
