      Account Executive Interview

      Dec 7, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (Chicago, IL) in Sep 2018

      Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn to get the interview process started. We agreed to setup an introductory phone call to see if I was a fit for the role she was looking to fill. Total Process looked like this: -Intro Call with Recruiter -> Intro Call with Hiring Manager -> Skype or Onsite with multiple Hiring Managers -> Onsite Presentation I went through the process twice actually back to back so the entire hiring process took about 10-11 weeks total. The first time through I came very close to getting an offer before they chose another candidate. I was then recommended to reapply for another opening (similar role) and go through the process again. I was incredibly fortunate to work with two unbelievable recruiters throughout the entire process --- Brianna Camera & Maddie List. They always held true to every timeline, made sure I was prepared for each interview, and got quick feedback on next steps. I could not have asked for a better support system along the way. I won't lie though --- the interview process is definitely a challenge. It takes a lot of research and preparation and it is very important that you know your sales process/numbers like the back of your hand. There are a lot of challenging and unique questions along the way that get you to think differently. Every company says this but I firmly believe it is true at Salesforce --- they want extremely motivated individuals who are coachable and can handle adversity. Do you embrace the grind? Can you handle coaching/constructive criticism? What life experiences can you talk about that back up your story? Being a confident and competitive person might not be enough to get an offer. I would really think hard about what differentiates you as an individual and make sure you can confidently talk about that.

      Interview

Recruiter missed multiple interviews only to tell me they have no positions only. 6 months later I receive an interview invite with pay $20k lower than originally discussed Manager arrives late to the interview then cuts the time early. Company seems disorganized and difficult to take seriously as a so called leader in SaaS.

pretty easy interview. Had to do a case. It felt like it was just a formality and they put me up to it to fit into their standard processes. Not the best experience but it is what it is
