      Software Development Engineer Interview

      Dec 4, 2009
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2009

      Interview

Phone interview with lead developer--a couple of technical questions, asked about projects on my resume, mostly about culture & fit Heard back almost immediately (possibly same day) that they wanted to fly me out for in-person interview. Offered me a choice of several dates. In-person interview: arrived around noon & had lunch with the other interview candidates (all college hires.) Some kind of VP gave a talk about company's direction, etc. etc. Taken to a conference room for a 3 hour programming assignment (simulate a simple file system.) Emphasized they were looking for readable code & evidence of thought about design/scalability. I didn't finish the exercise. 4 interviews with individuals or pairs of developers. Each one was from a different kind of team (database, front-end, etc) and asked questions specific to their work. The questions were almost all technical, but not terribly difficult. All the candidates & several developers went out to dinner afterwards. The recruiter called to let me know they would be extending an offer about 10 days later, and I got the official letter a few days after that.

      Question 1

Hicieron muchas preguntas acorde al rol. Mucho interés de los managers por conocer cómo trabajé en mis anteriores posiciones, además de hacerme preguntas que apuntaban a validar mi forma de trabajar en equipo. Cordiales y amables siempre.
