Recruiter contacted me via linkedin. There were several different interviews that I conducted with the Samsung Electro-Mechanics San Jose team.
1.) Phone Interview with the HR
The interview with the HR was fairly basic and simple. It was mostly based on my experience and interest in the position.
2.) Phone Interview with Hiring Manager
Phone interview with the hiring manager was also pretty straightforward. He was mostly interested in my daily work responsibilities. If I have any issues in staying longer at work due to conference calls with the Korean HQ.
3.) In-person Interview with Hiring Manager and SEMAI North America President
During this interview, the hiring manager shared the heavy Korean work culture. The SEMAI president however was more focused on my salary expectations. I kept asking for their salary range and they mentioned they do not have one. The president kept pressing me to give him a number and I did not.
4.) In-person Interview with Hiring Manager AGAIN
There was no point in that interview and it was merely a 'get to know me' type interview. They also mentioned that since the SEMAI president had left US, they had a new president who I have to see.
5.) Phone call with the HR AGAIN
It was merely to check if I was still interested in the position. The SEMAI president could not travel to US due to Covid and they wanted to schedule an online call with him.
I was not contacted after that and no feedback on the job opening.
