Started with an e-mail to my mentor, and she forwarded it to me. I responded to the request with my CV and a short e-mail about how I thought I would be a good fit. Phone call with HR and then phone call with manager. Phone call with HR mostly just screened to make sure that I had what they wanted. Phone call with the manager mostly was a conversation about my research and my publications. Ending in a conversation about future technology prospects and what I thought would come next to the industry.
