I applied online. I interviewed at Sandvik Publishing
Interview
When I submitted my resume and cover letter for this position, I was really excited at the prospect of joining the company that had made Hooked on Phonics possible. The day after I applied, I was contacted by a representative of the company and they set up a phone interview with me about a week out. Then, they canceled the phone interview the day before, giving no reason for doing so. I understand that they do not owe me anything, but I feel that it is dishonest to mislead a candidate like that. I asked for a reason, and I received no response. Upon looking up their page on BBB, I realized that their company structure seems kind of like a scam. Countless people on their BBB complain that they were misled about the book subscription and claimed they had been charged for books they never received. A little fishy if you ask me. I'm disappointed that they canceled the interview on such short notice, but I am also feeling now like I dodged a bullet.
