This position was for a senior level corporate support function and many of the interviewers were members of leadership. I was not actively searching for a new job but was approached by a company recruiter. After an initial phone screening, I was brought in for 2 rounds of in-person interviews. The first consisted of a full day (9-5 incl lunch) of interviews with 4 people. The interviews were supposed to end much earlier, but the conversations were so rich and engrossing that we kept losing track of time. I was surprised at the level of undivided attention each person gave me. The next round of interviews consisted of 3 meetings with people I had met with the previous time and 2 meetings with new people. It lasted from 8am-1pm. Again, they were more than liberal with their time -- never cutting me off or ending conversations short to run to the next meeting. The people were incredibly warm and welcoming and they made me feel like a highly valued candidate.
I've interviewed with Deloitte, GE, AON, JP Morgan Chase, Capital One... I could go on, and I can honestly say this was hands down the best interview experience I've ever had. The level of engagement and authenticity from every person involved was just astounding. I was particularly impressed with how honest they were about the challenges of the role.
Afterwards, when some colleagues asked how the interview went, my response was, "Amazing! We should all go work for Sargent & Lundy!" And I really meant it.
