Interview
I know it is very competitive, but the whole thing was like having a fun conversation with my friendly future supervisors. The conversation lasted for maybe an hour, which was longer than we scheduled. But I enjoyed it. I guess it highly depends on who you will be working for, not everyone can be as lucky as I was.

Interview
There are two rounds of interviews. First of all, I was called by the professor and had a phone screen first. He asked me to also send him my most recent transcript. Then i went to his office. Prof asked me to use Excel to process some data and got back to me 1 week later. Then he checked my criminal record.

Interview
Associate Professor that heads the project is the one who decides the hiring. If you have taken his/her class and have done relatively well or have shown relatively great effort, your chances are high. It's important to talk to him/her before even applying and ask him/her the hours required, tasks associated, and the worklife balance that usually accompanies a research assistant that's also taking full time courses.
