I would like to share my heartfelt thoughts on the digital interview experience I recently had with Schneider Electric. When I applied, I felt excited and hopeful that I could make a real connection with people, just like the ones I had with some of your employees whom I met at an event. However, what I encountered, was a one-sided digital interview that made me feel strange and uncomfortable, so I had to end the process. I practiced before the live interview questions, but I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling that something fundamental was missing: human interaction. I was wondering how meaningful conversations and subtle expressions of empathy were left out of this process, as if they were insignificant. I do understand the necessity for efficiency and cost-saving measures in the evaluation process, but I feel that empathy, compassion, and understanding are worth every cent invested. Perhaps this format benefits those who relish the spotlight and enjoy capturing themselves on video, but what about those who value human engagement? I believe that diversity is the essence of growth, and that a one-size-fits-all approach can never truly represent the broad spectrum of talents, abilities and emotions that make us human.
Sincerely, a fellow human being.
