Scorpion has a very thorough interviewing process. My mother/Director of Marketing of one of their clients became close to their VP of Public Relations, Jill, and she passed my resume along to the Director of Talent Acquisition, Seth. Seth asked basic questions about my background. After the phone screening he had me do an English, math, IQ, and spatial reasoning test through Purdue. Each section was about 3 mins and were pretty simple questions. STUDY ANAGRAMS. LOL.
Seth contacted me a few days later and we set-up a time to meet in-person with a couple marketing teams. I was told there could be anywhere from 3-9 additional people, but when I arrived only Seth and two Internet Marketing Managers were there - Marika and Nicholas. The other interviewee was said to be in New York. Regardless, they were so polite, casual, and welcoming. They had me do a typing and email test. The email test had two prompts. One was a mock email from a satisfied client who is extremely thrilled to do business with Scorpion, whereas the other was from a dissatisfied client who is upset about a major typo and is questioning the competence of the company. After the tests, Seth gave me a tour of the facility (extremely beautiful with many perks) and took me into a conference room to conduct the interview. Afterwards, Marika and Nicholas, two Directors of Internet Marketing told me about the Marketing Assistant position and spoke about it as if they were just giving me tips for when I start (ex: If you see Alex being frustrated, you should ask if there's something you can do to help lessen the load). They spoke most of the time about how to become a thriving MA (i.e. do one class a week, stay past 5, learn some basic coding, etc) and asked me some general questions about my background. They seemed to really want someone who is organized, takes initiative, and really goes the extra mile. In the end, I got a generic letter indicating that Scorpion chose different candidates.
