Recruiter reached out to me through LinkedIn and provided the details about the company and the role for 30 minutes, later scheduled an interview with technical team. A technical VP and a director of engineering conducted the interview. questions: Tell me about yourself Few agile process Database performance cloud platform .Net questions Dependency injection. after technical interview a take home assessment was given with 2 questions 1. Database design 2. C# coding exercise took around 3 - 4 hours complete the assessment. later there was call again with the recruiter. And it was like an interview with lots of behavioral questions took 45 minutes including salary negotiation. how do you handle constructive criticism how do you deal with a difficult colleague and a lot more.

Scorpion had the most convoluted process I have witnessed from a tech company. The first contact was to a recruiter. They seemed like the typical company recruiter that kind of pumps sunshine on behalf of their company overall, but they were friendly enough and very prompt - at first (more on this later). Two days later we had the initial interview. The initial interview is with the recruiter and it's fairly informal. We mainly went over a general overview of my experience, how it fit their posting, and some info about their company. A few days later, I had the next interview with the VP of Engineering and a Principal Engineer. This was a technical deep-dive that involved knowing a lot of definitions about OOP, programming, and online protocol principals. I got fairly quick feedback. I had done pretty well, but they were looking for someone with a little more experience/seniority (fair enough, I was right at the threshold for their post and I missed a couple questions I kicked myself later for in the deep dive). I didn't get the position. However, they had another Senior Software Engineer position they wanted to interview me for. I said great - you don't often get a second swing like that. I met with the Hiring Manager a couple of days later. Our discussion seemed to go very well. I am experienced in exactly the skillset his team needed, so it looked like an awesome fit. A few days go by, and I get another communication from the recruiter - they would like to block out another 2 hours to meet members of the team (Director of Software Development, a couple Developers, and a Product Manager). This sounds like a great sign. I go through the interview, all of the results seemed great. The director even said he "hopes to gets to work with" me. Shortly after, the feedback from the recruiter was positive too. This is where the good communication falls off the face of the earth. At one point I understood it was with the Hiring manager for consideration. A couple days go by and I try emailing. Eventually he calls and tells me he'll have an update by Thursday. Thursday comes and goes and I try checking in on Friday - no response. I give up on it. Eventually I get a message from the recruiter - there's hope. I was the first candidate they interviewed so the manager would like to interview a few more candidates and they will give me an answer "one way or another" a week from that next Friday. You guessed it - no indication when that friday came (I had moved on at that point anyway). Moral of the story - It's possible that scorpion is a decent employer. They seemed like an interesting tech-centric marketing company. However - if you interview with them, do not plan based on anything they say or let them string you along. Have backups even if it appears to go well and good luck!

Very fine tuned process. The recruiter was very helpful. questions were easy to answer. It's just little time consuming. The time zone is different pacific vs eastern. It would have been nice if the initial interview as a video interview.
