I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Vancouver, BC) in Mar 2024
Interview
The questions were direct and straight to the point. It was easy to make a conversation and when I asked a question, they were willing to respond to me with full details.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Scotiabank (Calgary, AB)
Interview
First interview: video with HR, about 15-20 minutes. Questions related to Scotia values, requirements that are on job posting.
Second interview: with individual branch assistant managers and customer experience leads(supervisors). Usually in-person at branch, but may be over the phone or video depending on their preference.
I know now that I'm hired, but at the end of the interview they say the HR person decides, but actually the assistant managers/customer supervisors do (depending on if they want you in the branch as a team member), then the HR person vaguely communicates some excuse.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you explain complex concepts in simple terms? What is your experience (sales, finance)? What made you apply? How do you handle rude customers?
Considering I was ready for hard questions but it was going forward with very easy ones and the whole interview process got done friendly and smooth by the interviewer. She patiently let me finish all my answers without interrupting.
